About Me

Bert Ring,  native Californian.
cartooning since the age of 4. cartoonist for his elementary, jr. high and high school news papers.
worked hard as an manuel labor on various jobs, notably as an silkscreen printer while attending art classes in various colleges in Orange County. Found his first break in animation working for Walt Disney studios in 1991 as an apprentice storyboard artist. Mentored by one of the best directors in the animation business, Matthew O’Callaghan put him under his wing and assisted him to direct on ” Louie Anderson’s television series ” Life with Louie”. Hyperion Studios then gave him as shot to  direct on Direct to Videos such as ” The Tangerine bear” and Christmas Classics.  He continued to direct on other notable shows such as Fox animations  “Family Guy” to O Entertainments “Back in the Barn Yard” television series. Reunited back with with Mr. O’Callaghan in 2003 and storyboarded his first feature film ” Curious George, the movie” He’s now happily employed at Nickelodeon as an assistant director on “Madagasgars Penguins”.
Bert finally made it in the newspapers in 2007 and  currently is the editorial cartoonist for the Glendale News Press & the Burbank Leader.
Bert resides in Glendale Ca. with his talented wife and daughter and their dog, Bindi…life is good.
